Portrait of an ESTJ - Extraverted Sensing Thinking Judging(Extraverted Thinking with Introverted Sensing)
The Guardian
As an ESTJ, your primary mode of living is focused externally, where you deal with things rationally and logically. Your secondary mode is internal, where you take things in via your five senses in a literal, concrete fashion.
ESTJs live in a world of facts and concrete needs. They live in the present, with their eye constantly scanning their personal environment to make sure that everything is running smoothly and systematically. They honor traditions and laws, and have a clear set of standards and beliefs. They expect the same of others, and have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not value these systems. They value competence and efficiency, and like to see quick results for their efforts.
ESTJs are take-charge people. They have such a clear vision of the way that things should be, that they naturally step into leadership roles. They are self-confident and aggressive. They are extremely talented at devising systems and plans for action, and at being able to see what steps need to be taken to complete a specific task. They can sometimes be very demanding and critical, because they have such strongly held beliefs, and are likely to express themselves without reserve if they feel someone isn't meeting their standards. But at least their expressions can be taken at face-value, because the ESTJ is extremely straight-forward and honest.
The ESTJ is usually a model citizen, and pillar of the community. He or she takes their commitments seriously, and follows their own standards of "good citizenship" to the letter. ESTJ enjoys interacting with people, and likes to have fun. ESTJs can be very boisterous and fun at social events, especially activities which are focused on the family, community, or work.
The ESTJ needs to watch out for the tendency to be too rigid, and to become overly detail-oriented. Since they put a lot of weight in their own beliefs, it's important that they remember to value other people's input and opinions. If they neglect their Feeling side, they may have a problem with fulfilling other's needs for intimacy, and may unknowingly hurt people's feelings by applying logic and reason to situations which demand more emotional sensitivity.
When bogged down by stress, an ESTJ often feels isolated from others. They feel as if they are misunderstood and undervalued, and that their efforts are taken for granted. Although normally the ESTJ is very verbal and doesn't have any problem expressing themself, when under stress they have a hard time putting their feelings into words and communicating them to others.
ESTJs value security and social order above all else, and feel obligated to do all that they can to enhance and promote these goals. They will mow the lawn, vote, join the PTA, attend home owners association meetings, and generally do anything that they can to promote personal and social security.
The ESTJ puts forth a lot of effort in almost everything that they do. They will do everything that they think should be done in their job, marriage, and community with a good amount of energy. He or she is conscientious, practical, realistic, and dependable. While the ESTJ will dutifully do everything that is important to work towards a particular cause or goal, they might not naturally see or value the importance of goals which are outside of their practical scope. However, if the ESTJ is able to see the relevance of such goals to practical concerns, you can bet that they'll put every effort into understanding them and incorporating them into their quest for clarity and security.

ESTJ.. i'm proud to be one.. somewhere in between my parents. my dad is an ISTJ and my mum's an ESFJ. which means i've got my dad's coldness and my mum's extroversion. which befits me perfectly :) my dad insists that i'm an ISTJ, just like him. but nobody else who knows me at least slightly better will agree that i'm introverted :D (ok maybe they used to, but not anymore muahahaha.)
actually there are not that many ESTJs around, especially female ones. they say ESTJ is the most masculine of all the personality types. i once read somewhere that while the female ESTJ is satisfied with her feminity, she's quite 'manly' in the way she does things. as a child growing up, she would often be told 'little girls don't do things this way'. as a working woman, she will be the mst career-oriented among all personality types:) yayness. which means my career would be quite ok i guess xD haha jkjk.
the strengths and the weaknesses of an ESTJ are omgosh.. scarily accurate for me leh!! like, they say an ESTJ may be too rigid, coz of their strongheadedness. a lot of times, ppl think i'm very strongheaded and stubborn. although i don't know why coz i always have this impression that i don't have enough strength of mind.
another thing is, the ESTJ, while extroverted, is very uncomfortable sharing his/her innermost thoughts. like me.. whenever i feel emo, i will just bottle everything inside coz don't feel comfortable telling others how i feel mah. a lot of ppl of other personality types tell me that this isn't healthy, but o well, it's just me LOL. :D yeah, we ESTJs are extroverted and like mixing with ppl, but we are just uncomfortable in sharing private stuff. it sounds contradicting, but it's true wow!
at first, i was wondering what careers would be suitable for an ESTJ. but in practically every website i've been to, they say tt suitable careers include: judge/lawyer, business manager, military officer O.O and teacher. of course, i can't eveer envision myself being a teacher (my grandparents keep talking about me becoming a piano teacher next time -.- ) but yes, i want to be a lawyer, and yay my personality is compatible!! proves that i know myself. haha.
a lot of ppl ask why don't i want to become a journalist/writer/pianist or something of that sort. i dunno.. i just don't think i have the personality for it. no patience, no passion (ok, i quite like piano, but i don't wanna turn professional) and no creativity. maybe this explains why i just cannot do creative writing. haha.
been slacking the whole morning, coz today is speech day. funny why practically nobody is online. don't tell me they're all involved in speech day stuffs? or all went out is it? this is super weird can. haha. i feel like talking on msn to ppl, but the thing is, they're all not onliene =.=
shall go make better use of my life now!
bye for now! :)

i'm sick! :( have not been this sick for very long liao.
on fri my throat was itchy the entire day.
yesterday got a hell lot of phlegm, fever started
today: fever became a lot worse, finished a whole pack of fisherman's friend bought yesterday night. now relying on lozenges and strepsils (the extra strong one) to keep my throat sane.
spent practically the whole day sleeping =D and dreamt. normally i have dreamless sleep. then tonight went to see doctor lor, got MC for tmr. but will still try to tahan until after band.
then my fever subsided. then came back. then subsided again.
and MY THROAT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! :O
the lozenges is making my tongue numb.
don't care luhh. i die die also muz go to school tmr. having bio and physics test this week mah. what if teacher says something important and i'm not there so i missed out?
***
on friday, our FAVOURITE lesson was really very entertaining and amusing. =D just before the lesson, at least half of the class went to toilet LOL! but i went coz i really needed to, not coz of needing to walk walk. so of coz, we made our dear teacher very pissed off -_-
after i came back, she went out of the class to see how long the rest would come back lor. so the rest of us faster chiong back to our places just so that we could pacify her.
after dunno how many light years, she decided to come back in.
then came the highlight of the day! (: i couldn't have wished for a better climax to the start of the lesson!
"I AM ON THE VERGE OF LEAVING THIS PLACE."
O.O oh my goodness.
talk, talk , talk.
"class chairperson?" *stares at yeukho*
*yeukho looks malu*
after a few seconds (which felt much more than tt..), yeukho finally realized he forgot to greet.
"class stand." *we all stand up*
"class sit." *we sit down*
"class stand."
"class sit."
we were made to repeat it like dunno how many times ok! LOL!
then for one of the times, when she made us stand, she was staring at yiping that side luhh. she was glaring at us very fiercely, and she thought not everyone was standing. actually everyone was =.= according to hillary's blog, joceline said," OMG she's seeing things that we can't see."
then our darling teacher said we were very childish. "yall are like in K3 (obviously no such thing luhh -.-) or P3. so from now on, i shall address yall as Primary 3H."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
i was trying so hard to stifle my laughter, but my whole body was shaking luhh. so i covered my mouth and kept coughing =.= at least she didn't notice the difference in my coughing from regular coughing.
evidently i was't the only one feeling this way (: a lot of ppl were trying to stifle their laughter too.
the lesson was pretty interesting too, until the extent that yitian and i started playing with our rubik's cubes under the table. then yitian's one got a sound whenever she turned the cube, and our teacher heard it. so she said "someone is playing with the cube."
walao, yitian was so engrossed in cubing, she didn't notice what the teacher said. so continue playing lor.
after awhile," that person still has not given up."
=.=

yesterday had math viva.. was better than the effing screwed-up math CT i guess. but i dunno how i did, coz i dunno how they grade vivas mah.
then chiong to city hall to discuss the LA script thingy. not the whole group came, including the 2 hiong ones (steffi and hang yin). so we spent almost all the time being retarded lor. did very little =.=
then went for piano lesson. by then, i was coughing very badly.

OMGOSH. I am like super pissed at someone now. (a person that you won't be able to think of luhh. so stop guessing, haha.)
i can't explain how disappointed and pissed i am with you. i liked you; i trusted you; i told you stuff that i would have been uncomfortable to share with others. at first sight, you seemed kind and caring--someone whom i would have felt would be a good friend. if anyone asked me anytime before today whether i doubted your trustworthiness, i would have said no. throughout all the years that i knew you, you seemed genuine and sincere. was i deceived?
yet, today, you still betrayed my trust like nobody's business. you told other people the same stuff which i told you. ugh.

should go ask someone in sch tomorrow on how to solve it. haha.
oh, and there's math and chem test on fri! haven't studied yet, but i am still here blogging =.= damn scared for both tests, especially for chem! if i get tt kind of shit results like the last test, i think my chem can get C liao... sigh.. T.T
which reminds me, chem file due on fri. and i have no idea how i'm going to get my parents to sign the freaking test paper. die.
jiayou to all who are having math/chem test(s) tomorrow!
(lucky my class don't have)

wth i am like super pissed off now...
you're not me, and so you don't understand me. so please stop telling me what to do and dictating me for every single step of my life. for goodness' sake. i everyday hear your voice not sian then something wrong liao. haha. seriously. don't you find yourself bloody annoying and irritating? or are you merely trying to develop potential in the area of pissing me off? yeah maybe. i think you have LOTS of potential in that area man. everyday practice dunno how many times.
today return math pop quiz. ms low said a lot of people lack practice. i think you have too much practice luhh. until when you say the first word i can imagine what you are going to say. and my ears threaten to burst.
for some reason, you have to have things your way lol. haven't you thought of those who may not always see eye-to-eye with you? do you think those people are nonexistent? or are they just worthy to be condemned coz only you are right, only your opinions are worth to be the food for thought of others? i may not be the most open-minded person around, but at least i know that different people do and perceive things differently. and you, who always complain how rigid i am, should know this basic, simple logic even more right. ugh.
when i think about it, half of me wants to puke. the other half of me just goes -.-
______________
anyway, as i was saying, we got back math pop quiz today. quite relieved that i managed to scrape my mark, although it was lower than what i'd expected. i could have gotten full marks, just that i forgot to square something in the 'complete the square' question. so i was penalized by quite a lot -.-
i'm very, very scared for math CT3 and chem test!!! my chem was just a borderline pass the last time, and when i think about my math CT2 results, i get damn demoralized can. T_T i dunno if i can regain my confidence in the forseeable future. (FYI, i dare not bring it home yet leh. same goes for LA, history, chinese, chem and physics.) hope everyone can scrape through those tests, at least better than last round!
oh, and we got back history test yesterday. i think i got second lowest in class or something: i failed. uhh please. i think mrs tan marks very leniently leh, but i still get penalized like crap >.< when i told valencia my mark, she was like O.O visibly shocked. yes i am too. it sucks ok. and i know that if i show my parents, they will be _______, coz they think i'm more humanities-inclined and therefore should ace history. i dunno why, but i just can't.
i realized that in upper sec, people only ace tests coz of their natural ability/strong foundation/luck. some subjects hor.. no matter how hard you try, just cannot do. so demoralizing. in sec 1-2, i thought it would be better to take history instead of geog coz it seemed easier to score. now, i wonder if it was the right decision after all...
anyway, nvm lah. ppl, remind me to drop this freaking subject after yr 4! ^^
i hate bio (can't complete all the stuffs)
i hate my carelessness
i hate chemistry
i hate physics
i hate history
i hate LA
I HATE CHINESE (xielaoshi is nice though =) )
I HATE MY GRADES!
walao so bad, i complain so much >.< like how many ppl out there are so much less fortunate than i am, yet i take for granted all the privileges i have.
_____________
LA compre test today. last fri was the 14 questions, today was summary. i hope i included most of the points in (can't hope for all luhh) and rephrased my words well enough to appease ms yeo (: aiya.. but anyway for LA, it's quite hard to study for. even ms yeo also say cannot study. now there's another excuse for slacking xD
i was quite rushed. coz i realize got too many words. so i was like cancelling here and there until my whole paper so messy (oh no, this reminds me of the screwed-up chem prac >< ) ahh whatever. what's done is done! must study for math, chem and bio, even though i think i will flop, especially for chem and bio. ugh. but at least i can say that i tried my best right.
_______________
oh yes, yesterday we had a very unusual assembly. ms lin invited some rock band (i can only remember the name was jack something, and that 1 of the members is an ex-dunmanian). she said they are a "very controversial music group" LOL. anyway, i thought it was going to be something like black eyed peas or linkin park.
only to realize (prepare yourself for this):
1. they imitated elvis presley (either they love the history of rock music or are very updated about the current music trends).
2. i admire their intonation.. the lead singer was shouting rather than singing.. can shouting ever be in tune? :/ (i don't think i have perfect pitch, but obviously you don't need any musical knowledge to know how well they sang -.- )
3. i believe i wasn't the only one who was on the verge of getting a splitting headache. (the drum sets & guitar & "singing" etc was... well...)
4. RIP to the massive number of yr 3/4 dunmanians who were dying of boredom.
5. the greatest pleasure of all was still to have 1 solid hour of daydreaming and stoning.. wanting to be in dreamland, yet dare not fall asleep.
was so bored that i started doing something illegal there... initially i was afraid of getting caught, but my fears gradually diminished.
LOL.
kk bye for now! :)

anyway, as i was saying, we got back math pop quiz today. quite relieved that i managed to scrape my mark, although it was lower than what i'd expected. i could have gotten full marks, just that i forgot to square something in the 'complete the square' question. so i was penalized by quite a lot -.-
i'm very, very scared for math CT3 and chem test!!! my chem was just a borderline pass the last time, and when i think about my math CT2 results, i get damn demoralized can.

*cries* i have a headache now. no, it's not due to migraine or being tired or anything of tt sort. it's due to a reason which i bet you can't think of xD nvm, shall not say here! i only told a few ppl, not very comfortable in telling ppl the reason >.<
it's quite sad, really... to the point of no tears. there's chem prac tmr and i havent started studying. we are still discussing LA violence ppt and i gtg do my HSSRP stuff. sigh. not to mention the 3 tests today - HCL, physics and MEP. my 3 worst subj. and we were not notified about the physics one earlier! luckily physics was more do-able than before. thou hopefully shall do better this time round (:
and my headache is still here.. o well, got to learn how to get used to it lah.
since i can't do anything, i shall not bother to.
bye for now.

today's my dad's birthday. happy birthday daddy! :) sorry didn't get you anything.. but i hope i can save up some money to buy a birthday cake soon! and happy belated birthday theresa too! hope you liked the necklace that we bought you =]
rhythm XXII was on sat. and i just realized that it signifies a very important beginning - the end of the sec 4s' time in junior high band. it marks the start of us sec 3s being handed the baton to run the band well and ensuring that things go on smoothly, and of course, lead the band to do well for SYF '09! hope that gold with honours can be ours! (:
but somehow, i wasn't very excited during the day of concert. i dunno why. am i that unenthusiastic? O.O but thanks band peeps for all your presents! and thanks theresa for that strawberry cheesecake lollipop! :) i was kinda scared before the concert, coz i scared that i would play the 'exposed' parts wrongly and make the band's intonation suck.
so i didn't do anything the whole weekend, as expected. saturday was concert, and didn't feel like doing anything yesterday. today was THE rare monday i could come home so early! that's the reason for commemmorating by posting ^^ haha. it doesn't feel right not to have band on mon :/ but with two tests (MEP and chinese) tmr, oh well.
even though being a SL is not new to me anymore, i realized that i'll be a sec 4 SL in a matter of months. now that the sec 4 SLs are going to leave soon, i realized that it's time to do something better for my section, for the band, my CCA. i hope that as a SL, i can make changes in the band.. for the better. yes ppl, though this may sound cliched, i don't think so though. i hope that regardless of how busy or how sian i may feel, i will always put band as one of my top priorities. even though it doesn't contribute to my academic results, i will still try to do more for it.
soon, the baton will be handed over to us sec 3s. it's up to us to make the best out of what the band has been given.

anyway, i was real sleepy today. was kind of zombified during all the lessons, especially physics. i don't really get the temperature thing leh :/ sorry mr hong!! >.< and chem prac is only in a matter of days. not to mention math pop quiz and math common test 3. cannot flop any more tests/quizzes already! i've flopped more than enough already. and this is only april. usually, the workload will increase in the second semester luhh. ahh sian.
and lao shi is very nice, seriously. :) on thurs when my group's ppt screwed up (not once but twice), she offered to let us wrap up the presentation on fri. then on fri, there was no time coz muz let the other grps present, so she say postpone to today. then in the end we didn't, so she kept hinting to us to do more stuff so tt can pull up our grades. it's like, not many teachers will do that, and even fewer teachers will give so many chances. which reminds me, i have to email her the ppt asap.
list of things to do:
1. email lao shi the chinese proj ppt.
2. study for the freaking chinese test (which i'm bound to flop).
3. study for MEP test.
4. study for math pop quiz.
5. study for chem prac.
6. study for bio test.
7. revise previous units for physics.
8. read up on temperature for physics.
9. chinese tuition hw.
10. prepare for MEP practical (which is in 2 weeks' time but mine is like crap).
11. prepare my ATCL exam pieces.
12. HSSRP proposal.
13. bio enzyme assignment.
and the list goes on...
whoa, i didn't realize i'm so busy until now. so, making lists actually help! lol wow.
kk, shall stop here now and publish this post coz yitian has been asking me to update!
